12 EX-REBELS SURRENDER IN CENTRAL LUZON

A total of 12 former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and Underground Mass Organizations (UGMO) from Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan voluntarily surrendered to authorities from May 13 to 16, 2025, affirming the success of the government’s intensified anti-insurgency campaign.

On May 13, at around 4:00 PM, a farmer identified as “Ka Mia” from Brgy. Pao 3rd, Camiling, Tarlac, formerly affiliated with KLG-TAR-ZAM, surrendered to the Camiling Municipal Police Station with the assistance of intelligence operatives. “Ka Mia” turned over a .38 caliber revolver, which is now in police custody. Following a tactical interview, she was released.

On May 16, nine members of the Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) from Brgy. Faigal, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, publicly renounced their ties with the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL), an affiliate of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP). Identified only by their aliases — Gloria, Feliza, Irene, Zenika, Julieta, Lydia, Norma, Marcelina, and Rualyn — the former members were assisted by joint forces of the 2nd PMFC of Nueva Ecija PPO, local MPS units, and several national and regional law enforcement agencies and military units.

Later that day, at about 3:45 PM, “Ka Ruby,” a 42-year-old former member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army (RPA-RHB), surrendered at the 1st PMFC Headquarters in Camp Alejo S. Santos, Bulacan. She also handed over a snub-nose .38 caliber revolver with three rounds. She is currently undergoing documentation and tactical interrogation, and has received initial financial assistance.

Another former UGMO member, known as “Nonoy,” a 32-year-old from Brgy. San Eustacio, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, surrendered at around 4:00 PM in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. A former member of the Pambansang Katipunan ng Magsasaka (PKM), “Nonoy” turned over a .38 caliber revolver and four rounds.

Police Regional Office 3 Director PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo commended the series of surrenders, stating:

“These developments are clear evidence of the government’s ongoing success under Oplan Balik-Loob and the efforts of local Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC). They demonstrate not only the return of these individuals to peaceful civilian life, but also the PNP’s continued commitment to ensuring peace and order in the region.”
