12th Star Awards for Music
The Philippine Movies Press Club, Inc. (PMPC), in cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), presented the much-awaited 12th Star Awards for Music last Sunday, October 10.
Among the big winners during the virtual presentation broadcast over STV and RAD channels were Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Lea Salonga, Daniel Padilla and Sarah Geronimo.
Regine was named Female Recording Artist of the Year for the song “I Am Beautiful” and Female Concert Performer of the Year for her “Iconic” concert.
Daniel Padilla was proclaimed Male Recording Artist of the Year for his song “Mabagal’.
Sarah Geronimo won Female Pop Artist of the Year for “Ang Tangi Kong Pangara
And Lea Salonga won Concert of the Year for her Perfect Ten Concert held at the Resorts World Manila.
Pop Diva Ms. Kuh Ledesma and composer/arranger Louie Ocampo received the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award and Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement, respectively.Top of Form
Meanwhile, Kuh Ledesma, Christian Bautista, Jed Madela, Gerald Santos, Luke Mejares, Ima Castro, Jeric Gonzales and Alden Richards also received Plaques of Appreciation for their participation in the PMPC benefit concert “Awit sa Pandemya.”Bottom of Form

The PMPC also awarded a special recognition in the field of Government and Public Service for their valuable support for PMPC. These are: Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for “Inspirational and Outstanding Leader”; Mayor Jennifer “Ina Alegre” Mindanao Cruz for “Most Ideal Public Servant, Actress and Producer”; Public Works Secretary Mark Villar for “Most Exemplary Public Servant”; and, Senator Ping Lacson for “Outstanding Public Servant”.
Alfred Vargas and actress Sanya Lopez were the hosts of the prestigious awards night.
Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra, David Fabros and Rep. Alfred Vargas were also honored for their valued support to the PMPC event.
The PMPC, the award-giving body organized by the pioneering entertainment group in the Philippines, is currently headed by veteran showbiz editor Roldan Castro as president.
