Angeles City will soon have a 24/7 emergency hotline. This is according to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., who has instructed his Chief Adviser, IC Calaguas, to set up an emergency hotline where every Angeleño can get help in any kind of emergency – be it natural hazards, such as earthquakes, fires, floods, landslides, or crime and violence.
The hotline will be linked to the city’s command center and Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) for emergency response.
In line with this, disaster personnel, fire fighters, and law enforcers will receive trainings to respond quickly and communicate properly to prevent loss of human lives.
“The city government will equip them with necessary skills and needed logistics,” Lazatin said.
At the same time, the city will purchase the first city-owned fire truck and train firefighters to augment the resources of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
To recall, part of the pandemic response of Lazatin in his first term is the 24/7 hotline for COVID-19 reports and the telemedicine hotline that Angeleños can access anytime for free via phone calls and Messenger. (Angeles City Information Office)
