Some 3,000 participants recently joined in a Zumba activity held at the Clark Parade Grounds to celebrate Women’s Month.
Dubbed as “Zumba for Juanas”, this wellness and fitness activity was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga and Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
The event was led by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Pampanga Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, CDC President and CEO Manuel R Gaerlan, DOLE Undersecretary Renato Ebarle, and DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio.
Participants coming from the workforce of CDC, Clark locators and other government agencies operating inside the Freeport also participated in the activity.
In a brief message, Vice Gov. Pineda said that this event helps in empowering the women sector in the labor force and at the same time, it raises awareness on the importance of encouraging them to participate in activities that will improve their work-life balance.
Meanwhile, President Gaerlan shared that this activity is among the first to be hosted by the Freeport that marks the continuous recovery and return to normalcy within the zone, and its adjacent communities. In addition, he also encouraged the participants to continue improving their physical health, while at the same time, being conscious in protecting themselves against the continuing danger of the Covid-19 virus.
(CDC Comms Division)
