Nueva Ecija – The 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army has deployed 11 Community Support Program (CSP) teams to the provinces of Tarlac, Zambales, and Pangasinan on November 08, 2021.

Brigadier General Luis Rex D. Bergante PA, Acting Commander of 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army said that the deployment is part of the 7ID’s commitment not only to assist the Local Government Units of the three provinces in its peace and development efforts but also to eliminate the influence of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) especially in Indigenous Peoples community.

A formal deployment ceremony was held at the 3rd Mechanized (MAKATARUNGAN) Battalion, Headquarters at Sitio Pugo, Barangay Burgos, San Jose, Tarlac led by Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Henry Z. Cabusao, Commanding Officer.

The 11 CSP teams are composed of units under 703rd and 702nd Infantry Brigade who underwent CSP Refresher Training at 7th Division Training School of the 7th Infantry Division to harness their potentials and skills in CSP operations.

It can be recalled that 14 CSP teams were previously deployed in different Barangays of Tarlac and Zambales last February of this year, however, the need to deploy another set of CSP teams arose after conducting a series of workshops together with the former members of CTG’s KLG-TARZAM and their surrendered CNT in the Barrio.

The CSP teams were warmly welcomed by respective Local Chief Executives upon their arrival.

BGen Bergante emphasized the vital role of the CSP teams in the conflict-affected communities to assist the LGUs in its peace and development efforts and also to thwart the further infiltration and exploitation of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in the Indigenous Peoples community.

“Our programs implemented under the CSP are in line with the objectives of the E.O 70 with the full support of the LGUs involved. We are focused on our goal to clear the remaining areas from the influence of the terrorists. We are guided with our objectives and a strong commitment to delivering the result in whatever means,” said BGen Bergante.(7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army)
