Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is demanding law enforcers here to limit emergency response to 10-15 minutes maximum since every minute delay means possible loss of human life.
To complement this, Lazatin said that his administration will provide weekly gas allocation to police service vehicles.
“This is to ensure easy response to emergency calls,” Lazatin shared this intent during his inaugural speech on June 30, 2022 in Barangay Cutud.
“Our city’s support to the Philippine National Police will be steadfast,” Lazatin vows.
Apart from this, Lazatin also instructed the Angeles City Police Office with the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to prepare a series of drills in all elementary, high school, colleges and universities.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will also be tapped by Lazatin to conduct stress debriefing after the drills to prevent possible trauma on children.
As the father of the city, Lazatin said he wants to ensure that children in schools are safe from hostage crisis, active mass shootings alongside earthquake and fire incidents.
“Although there is no recorded mass shooting incident in our country, we need to ensure that our school children are safe from any harm,” Lazatin added.
To recall, Lazatin also reiterated the need for additional CCTVs throughout the city, saying he will allot ₱100 million budget for the said initiative. (Angeles City Information Office)
