I’ve noticed that bike lanes have been converted into parking lots by vehicles, from PUV’s to private vehicles, which has become rampant along the major thoroughfares in Angeles City.
While I commend the efforts of the city government for providing safe biking lanes for cyclists, especially for those who bike to work, the bikes lanes have become useless for cyclists as obstruction is rampant, forcing cyclists to use the main roads which put their lives in danger from speeding vehicles.
A bike lane is a portion of the roadway that has been designated by striping, signage, and pavement markings for the preferential or exclusive use of bicyclists.
I hope traffic enforcers in Angeles City would remove these obstructions along the bike lanes, especially along portions of the MacArthur Highway like the one at the Sacred Heart Hospital and Korea Town.

The Pampanga Press Club (PPC) recently revived the long-awaited launching of the KapiHann with its new venue at the Clark in the Clark Freeport.
Replacing the Talk Widus media conference previously held at the Widus Hotel, Swissôtel is now the host of the newest PPC kapihan event.
The KapiHann started last September 7 where the first guest was no other than Neki Liwanag who announced before media the several developments taking place at the Hann Casino Resort.
The Hann Casino Resort is one of the biggest hotels and resorts inside the Clark Freeport in Pampanga. It hosts the Swissôtel Clark, the Clark Marriott and the Widus Hotel and has become one of the premier tourism destinations in Central and Northern Luzon.
The hotels at Hann have been recording 80 to 90 percent occupancy since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions by the national government.
Tourism in the Clark Freeport is also slowly gaining grounds as more travelers prefer the former US facility for their staycation, and one of their favored hotels is the Hann Casino Resort which opened its biggest casino in December of 2021.
Congratulations to the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) and the Hann Casino Resort!

Atty. Agnes Devanadera is the new Clark Development Corporation (CDC) head and employees of the state-owned firm are hoping that the new prexy will address their concerns such as the impending implementation of the new pay scale which will affect their current salaries.
Devanadera assured CDC employees that she will work hard to address the issues not only for the employees but for all of the Clark Freeport.
“I am just ready, always ready to face what I will find. And I’m happy to say that in all government offices that I’ve been to, I have always had a lot of pleasant surprises,” Devanadera said.
Devanadera is a former Department of Energy secretary during the time of former President Gloria Macapagal-Aroyo and a former Justice Secretary and Undersecretary.
CDC employees should support their new president as she brings extensive experience in government service and I am confident that the new head will do better in managing the Clark Freeport.
