CSFP confers over 160 ‘Tourism Star’ awards to stakeholders – The Voice Newsweekly

The City Government of San Fernando, through the City Tourism Office, held its annual “Tourism Star” awarding ceremony on September 28, 2022 – conferring over 160 plaques and certificates to its various stakeholders.

As she commenced the ceremony, City Mayor Vilma Caluag underlined the vital roles of tourism stakeholders in promoting San Fernando’s rich history, culture, and tradition, and in strengthening the local economy with their products, services, advocacies, and initiatives.

Now on its fifth year, the 2022 “Tourism Star” Awards was composed of the following eight categories:

  • Department of Tourism (DOT)-Accredited Establishments (hotels, resorts, Mabuhay accommodations, tour operators/travel and tour agencies, agri-tourism farms/sites, restaurants, MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions] facilities, tourism recreation centers, tour guides)
  • Tourism Statistics Excellence (leisure and business accommodation establishments)
  • COVID-19 Tourism Heroes (hotels and villas)
  • Most Participative Tourism Frontliners (individuals)
  • Child Safe Tourism Establishments (hotels and villas)
  • Barangay Tourism Program Champions (barangays)
  • Incident Management Team-Compliant MICE facilities (restaurants, event centers, malls, resorts)
  • Partner Organizations (individuals, agencies, associations/groups, telecommunication companies)
Mayor Vilma Caluag administered the oath of office to the members of the newly-reconstituted CSFP Arts, Culture, and Tourism Council

In her speech, delivered by Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ronsan Pelariza, DOT Region 3 Director Carolina Uy extended her felicitations to the City and the awardees.

Meanwhile, the members of the newly-reconstituted CSFP Arts, Culture, and Tourism Council were presented by City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan and were sworn into office by Mayor Caluag.

Joining Caluag in the activity were City Vice Mayor BJ Lagman, City Councilors Brenz Gonzales, Ricky Hizon, and Reggie David, and other City personnel.
