The Department of Education (DepEd) recognized and awarded the Most Outstanding Teachers and Schools Heads in Central Luzon on October 4, 2022 at the Hacienda Gracia Resort and Hotel, Lubao, Pampanga. The awarding ceremony corresponded with the celebration of National Teachers’ Month and with the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence of the agency.
“The Regional Search for the Most Outstanding Teachers and School Heads is part of our Rewards and Recognition Program under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management of Civil Service Commission. It is our commitment to continuously uplift the quality of our services for the sake of our learners in Central Luzon,” DepEd Regional Director May Eclar said.
The selection process consisted of Paper Screening (Phase 1), Validation and Background Investigation (Phase 2), and Interview and Demonstration Teaching (for teacher nominees) and School Leadership Assessment (for school head nominees).
Most Outstanding Teacher (Elementary Category): Elmark Joaquin (Matias A. Fernando Memorial School, Bulacan)
- 2nd Place: Lea Orseno (Concepcion SPED Center, Tarlac Province)
- 3rd Place: Rjay Calaguas (Northville 15 Integrated School, Angeles City)
- 4th Place: Rose Ann Esguerra (Gapan East Integrated School, Gapan City)
- 5th Place: Jane Manzanero (Uacon Integrated School, Zambales)
Most Outstanding Teacher (Secondary Category): Rafael Martinez (Guiguinto National Vocational High School, Bulacan)
- 2nd Place: Jeffrey Yumang (Madapdap Resettlement Senior High School, Mabalacat City)
- 3rd Place: Cindy Oliva (City of Meycauayan Vocational Senior High School, Meycauayan City)
- 4th Place: Christopher Lumba (Pampanga High School, City of San Fernando)
- 5th Place: Christopher Francisco (Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School, Malolos City)
Most Outstanding School Head (Elementary Category): Chevy Tanglao (Monicayo Integrated School, Mabalacat City)
- 2nd Place: Marygil Joson (Balaoang Elementary School, Tarlac Province)
- 3rd Place: Jiji Regala (Magalang Elementary School, Pampanga)
- 4th Place: Ma. Aurea Rhodora Geronimo (Dr. Guillermo De La Merced Memorial School, Bulacan)
- 5th Place: Lorna A. Aquino (San Fernando Elementary School, City of San Fernando)
Most Outstanding School Head (Secondary Category): Ma. Victoria Vivo (Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School, Malolos City)
- 2nd Place: Richard Agustin (Sindalan National High School, City of San Fernando)
- 3rd Place: Julius Sarabia (City of Meycauayan Vocational Senior High School, Meycauayan City)
- 4th Place: Ara Velasco (Pagalanggang National High School, Bataan)
- 5th Place: Ismael Delos Reyes (Atlu Bola National High School, Mabalacat City)
Winners were selected by a panel composed of University of the Assumption Director for Internationalization and External Relations Dexter Balajadia, Bulacan State University Director for Educational Development Ruben Borja, and Don Honorio Ventura State University Office for International Partnerships and Programs and Office for Alumni Affairs Director Mildred Crisostomo.
The Top Five Winners in each category received plaques and cash prizes. (PIA)
