Angeles City continues financial aid to indigent PWDs

Angeles City, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., continues to extend financial assistance to persons with disabilities (PWDs) in different barangays through a house-to-house distribution system.

Members of Persons with Disabilities Office, headed by Alma Vital, led the distribution of the cash aid with the staff of Gender and Development Office and City Social Welfare and Development Office.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, the house-to-house financial aid distribution happened in Barangays Mining (63 persons), Barangay Pulungbulu (68 persons), Barangay Sto. Cristo (55 persons).

Mayor Pogi, who has allotted P2.5 million under Supplemental Budget No. 2 for this endeavor, has always prioritized the welfare of the PWDs. He has been promoting PWD-friendly premises in the City Hall by putting up necessary structures like an elevator and ramps.

Back in August, one hundred thirty-nine (139) bedridden PWDs, who were visited last house-to-house for their COVID-19 vaccines, already received their P1,000 cash aid. This totalled to P139,000.

A total of 2,361 indigent Persons with Disabilities from all 33 barangays of Angeles City are set to receive P1,000 financial assistance each from the city government.
