COVID cases continue to decline
The isolation facility of the city government here at the City College of Angeles (CCA) for Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) is now empty of patients as COVID-19 cases continue to decline.
This was shared by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.’s Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.
According to Manuel, this is the first time since the start of the pandemic two years ago that the isolation facility is empty.
Manuel is handling the operations and management at the isolation facility, together with City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra.
Manuel said the six patients housed at the facility completed their 14-day quarantine today, November 11, with negative RT-PCR result for COVID-19.
They were also taken to their respective homes by personnel of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, led by Rodolfo Simeon, as soon as cleared for COVID-19.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, meanwhile, shared that close contacts being housed at the isolation facility, with a 100-bed capacity are receiving free meals from the established community kitchen of Mayor Lazatin – from breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Room amenities also include airconditioning units, electric fan, television and free WiFi.
The city has seen a steady decline in COVID-19 confirmed cases. In fact, last November 6, no close contacts were tested at the CCA swabbing center, citing the intensified vaccination drive of Mayor Lazatin.
To date, a total of 270,742 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 207,480 are already fully vaccinated.
Calaguas is the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program with the 400 working staff in the vaccination team.
