Central Luzon cops seize 37 loose firearms in 5-day crackdown

From October 1 to October 5, 37 loose firearms were confiscated across various provinces in Central Luzon following the assumption of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Director PBGEN Redrico A. Maranan. This is part of the intensified campaign initiated by PBGEN Maranan to enforce stricter measures against loose firearms in the region.

PRO 3 Director Maranan’s has directed police units across the to mobilize for simultaneous operations with the aim of curbing illegal firearm possession and strengthening security measures, particularly in the lead-up to the 2025 elections.

Relatedly, joint personnel from 303rd MC, RMFB3, and Gapan CPS arrested a farmer who was found in possession of an unlicensed cal.45 pistol with a magazine containing four live rounds of ammunition while trying to flee during a joint anti-criminality checkpoint in Brgy. Pambuan, Gapan City.

PBGEN Maranan expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the police personnel involved and underscored the importance of continuing this campaign.

“This operation demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our communities. Through the ‘Makabagong Pulis sa Makabagong Panahon’ initiative, we will remain proactive in addressing public safety concerns, especially as the election season approaches.”

He further emphasized the importance of public cooperation, urging residents to report any illegal firearms in their areas to the authorities. “Our continued success in confiscating loose firearms is a testament to our dedication to public safety. We will not rest until the threat posed by illegal firearms is completely eliminated.”
