Celebrating Super Citizens during Elderly Filipino Week 2024 at SM

In celebration of Elderly Filipino Week 2024, SM Cares, together with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) and the SM Super Grannies Club, hosted fun and meaningful activities for senior citizens on October 1, 2024, at the Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.

The event featured interactive sessions, wellness programs, and surprises, all aimed at honoring seniors and giving them opportunities to connect with others. Highlights included a mass at the Shrine of Jesus the Way, the Truth, and the Life, a Walk for Life parade, a Zumba session, and a performance by Filipino balladeer Darius Razon.

Another event, co-organized with the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP), took place at SM North EDSA Skydome. The Talakayan Forum brought together senior citizens, local officials, and stakeholders to discuss senior welfare, inclusivity, and the role of seniors in nation-building.

The forum encouraged open discussions on issues that affect seniors and highlighted their contributions to the community. It also strengthened partnerships between local governments, senior groups, and the private sector.

These activities support SM Cares’ mission to promote inclusivity and empower senior citizens. SM Cares is the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, supporting various initiatives for communities and the environment.
