The holiday season came early for 45 Aeta children from Porac, Pampanga, as the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI) spread festive cheer during their annual “Christmas in November” event at SM Store Clark. This cherished gift-giving tradition, previously held at SM Megamall, has expanded to include SM Store locations in Clark, Cebu, and Lanang, Davao, broadening its reach to touch even more young lives.
Partnering with SM, the day began with a festive lunch at Wendy’s, setting a joyful tone for the children, many of whom were experiencing a mall visit for the first time. Each child received the personal attention of a Senate spouse or representative, who guided them through the store to select clothes, school supplies, toys, and other essentials. General Manager Mark Lapid, along with USEC Emmeline A. Villar, Nancy Dela Rosa, and Maricel Tulfo, led the team of Senate spouses in supporting the young shoppers.
The SM Store Clark team welcomed the children with warmth, along with SM Executives led by Monina Maturino, AVP for SM Store Clark, and Johanna Rupisan, SAVP for North B. The support of these leaders ensured a seamless and memorable experience for the Aeta children.
Established in 1998 by Eloisa Nolasco-Fernan, “Christmas in November” has grown into a beloved tradition of outreach and giving. GM Mark Lapid expressed gratitude to SSFI for their enduring commitment to uplifting Filipino communities: “Thank you for your time and dedication in supporting our senators’ initiatives. Together, we have positively impacted countless lives across the country, and today, we created another special memory by bringing joy to our Aeta children here in Pampanga.”
Adding a unique touch to the day, the children treated everyone to a special performance, showcasing their talents and gratitude, creating an uplifting moment of connection.
Led by General Manager Mark Lapid, who also serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), “Christmas in November” is one of SM Supermalls’ many ways of bringing joy to underprivileged communities during the holiday season, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to inclusivity and community support.
