Converge Exec honored as Top Tech Innovator in Southeast Asia

Paulo Martin Santos, Chief Network Transformation Officer at Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has been recognized as one of Southeast Asia’s top technology innovators at the recent IDG Technology Symposium and CIO100 Awards in Singapore. The award highlights Santos’ pivotal role in driving innovation and leading transformative changes in the regionโ€™s technology landscape.

The prestigious awards, organized by the US-based International Data Group (IDG), honor senior technology executives who excel in operational excellence and groundbreaking strategies. IDG, a global leader in market intelligence for the tech industry, assembled an independent judging panel comprising CIO.com editors and industry analysts to select the winners.

โ€œThis award truly underscores Convergeโ€™s leadership not just in the Philippines but across Southeast Asia. It reflects the tireless dedication of our Network Transformation Group in ensuring that Convergeโ€™s fiber infrastructure remains world-class among broadband providers,โ€ Santos remarked.

Transforming Convergeโ€™s Network
Santos, the youngest member of Convergeโ€™s executive team, joined in 2022 with a mission to future-proof the companyโ€™s network infrastructure. Tasked by Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy, Santos spearheaded initiatives to revolutionize Convergeโ€™s architecture by transforming network nodes into multi-edge data centers and incorporating AI-ready technology.

In 2023, under Santosโ€™ leadership, Converge introduced the Network Intelligence and Automation Platform (NIAP), an AI-powered system that automated network operations. This innovation drastically improved service metrics, reducing backbone network issue resolution times and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Beyond Connectivity
Converge is now expanding its reach beyond broadband connectivity by venturing into the data center business. Santos is overseeing the development of two data centers, set to launch in 2025, with a combined capacity of 1,500 racks. These facilities will be equipped with cutting-edge AI-ready technology to support the growing demand for data-intensive applications such as gaming, fintech, OTT services, and public services.

โ€œThis investment prepares us for the future, anticipating the massive growth in data needs,โ€ Uy stated. โ€œUnder Santiโ€™s guidance, we are equipping our data centers with state-of-the-art technology while simultaneously upgrading our network. These innovations will ultimately enhance our broadband services and further solidify our position as a leader in the tech industry.โ€

As Converge strengthens its infrastructure and ventures into data-intensive solutions, Santosโ€™ recognition by IDG is a testament to the companyโ€™s commitment to innovation and its role in shaping the future of technology in the region.
