The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has secured another legal victory as the Court of Appeals reaffirmed its rightful authority over Camp John Hay in Baguio Cityβ€”clearing a key hurdle in its mission to redevelop the area into a dynamic public space.

In its decision, the Court dismissed the Petition for Prohibition filed by Casiano et al., upholding BCDA’s right to recover a Forest Lodge unit within the former military reservation. The ruling reinforces BCDA’s legal standing as it moves forward with long-term plans to boost eco-tourism, spur business growth, and promote inclusive development across Baguio and nearby communities.

BCDA Chairperson Atty. Larry Paredes welcomed the decision, calling it β€œanother decisive victory for the rule of law and the Filipino people.”
