The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday, June 26, 2025, issued a strong statement condemning all forms of corruption involving appointments, promotions, and designations in the education sector.

The agency reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against the so-called “pay-for-positions” scheme, declaring such acts as a grave offense under its rules.

“Under my leadership, I will not allow any form of corruption within the Department of Education—including the reported selling of positions or accepting bribes in exchange for jobs, promotions, or assignments,” said Education Secretary Sonny Angara.

The department emphasized its commitment to integrity, fairness, and transparency in public service, particularly in areas that directly impact the careers and welfare of education professionals.
