Senator Win Gatchalian lauded the recent enactment of the Government Optimization Act, saying it will make public service delivery faster, more efficient, and more responsive by ensuring government resources are maximized for the benefit of every Filipino.
As chair of the Senate Finance Committee, Gatchalian explained that the law allows the merging or abolition of agencies with overlapping functions, creating a leaner and more agile bureaucracy. This streamlining will also enable the reallocation of resources and personnel to priority areas, improving responsiveness and service quality.
“This measure is about putting the taxpayers first. Sa pag-o-optimize ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno, tinitiyak nating naibabalik sa mamamayan ang bawat pisong buwis sa anyo ng mas mabilis at maayos na serbisyo,” said Gatchalian, who co-authored the measure.
The senator emphasized that by reducing inefficiencies and eliminating redundancies, the government can deliver better services while ensuring every peso of public funds is put to good use.
