Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) President and CEO Federico Laxa visited communities in Pampanga on Monday to reaffirm the agency’s support for residents under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP).
Laxa met with members of the United Neighbors (Pinag-isang Magkakapitbahay) of Miranda Compound Phases 1 and 2 in Brgy. Maimpis, personally assessing their situation and outlining next steps to secure their land tenure. The ECMP forms part of the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to prioritize housing for the poor.

Nearly 1,000 families are set to benefit from five newly approved ECMP projects, including almost 400 families in Miranda Compound. Joining Laxa during the visit were SHFC Corporate Planning and Communications VP Florencio Carandang Jr. and Central Luzon 4PH Head Prandy Vergara.

Residents welcomed Laxa’s announcement of infrastructure upgrades, including road and drainage improvements, along with livelihood and skills training programs to support economic empowerment. He also noted that the cost of individualizing land titles could be incorporated into their loans, streamlining the process and lowering expenses.
Laxa likewise visited the Coronado Ville Homeowners’ Association Phase 1 in Brgy. Camias, Magalang to meet with officials and discuss community concerns, and inspected Crystal Peak Estates in Brgy. Del Carmen ahead of its turnover to beneficiaries this August.
