Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is preparing to lobby ₱260 million in 2026 to rehabilitate all 173 day care centers in the First District.
During a program workshop held on August 16, 2025, facilitated by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel with District Engineer Arnold Ocampo of DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office, plans were outlined to repair every day care center and equip each with two HP air-conditioners and a 55-inch or bigger smart TV.
“It is always my intention to make learning more conducive by providing a better learning environment, especially to our pre-schoolers,” Lazatin emphasized.
The First District currently has 78 day care centers in Angeles City, 62 in Mabalacat City, and 33 in Magalang.
This initiative builds on Lazatin’s record as former Angeles City Mayor, where he led the ₱5 million repair of day care centers, the ₱259 million expansion of classrooms, offices, laboratories, and canteen at the City College of Angeles (CCA), and the ₱50 million construction of the CCA New Annex Building funded by PAGCOR. He also implemented the distribution of 58,000 tablets to public students, 3,200 to teachers, and another 3,200 to CCA students.
