Damosa Land 5150 Samal debuts as Philippines’ biggest inaugural 5150 race

Bridgeport, Samal Island is set to host the much-anticipated Damosa Land 5150 Samal and Sunrise Sprint on September 21, 2025, marking the largest inaugural 5150 race in the Philippines.

The event has drawn a strong turnout of local athletes and international participants from Australia, Japan, Colombia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, the USA, and France—underscoring its global appeal.

“This event is more than just a race – it’s a celebration of Samal as a premier destination for sports and tourism,” said Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo, President of Damosa Land, Inc.

Athletes will take on a 1.5km swim off the Bridgeport coast, a 40km scenic bike course along the Davao Gulf, and a 10km run through Samal’s business center. For beginners, the Sunrise Sprint offers a shorter 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run.

The weekend also features the Bigiw Run on September 20, a 5km fun run inspired by the island’s colorful outrigger canoes, adding a festive, family-friendly vibe.

Organized by Sunrise Events Inc. with strong support from Damosa Land and local partners, the 5150 Samal aims to showcase the island’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and growing reputation as a hub for sports tourism.
