The City Government of Angeles announced that it is still awaiting a response from Malacañang Palace regarding its request letter sent in August to declare two special non-working days in celebration of major local festivities.
The proposed dates are:
- October 13 – in celebration of Fiestang La Naval (for October 12)
- October 24 – in commemoration of Fiestang Apung Mamacalulu on October 31
As of this posting, the national government has not yet issued an official reply.
The Angeles City LGU assured residents and stakeholders that it continues to follow up on the request and has sought the opinion of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) as part of the process.
City officials also pledged to announce any updates immediately once a decision is received from Malacañang.
The local government expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding as it works through proper channels to secure the declaration.
