“We may not have mountains or beaches, but we have something no one else can replicate — the heart, talent, and culture of the Angeleños.”
Speaking during the October 2o25 edition of News @ Hues, the monthly media forum of Pampanga Press Club in partnership with Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Angeles City Tourism Officer Louie Lazatin unveiled the city’s vision for “Tourism with a Heart” — an inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven approach that celebrates people as the city’s greatest landmark.

“Our people are our landmark. Our stories are our destination,” Lazatin declared, underscoring that tourism in Angeles goes beyond physical sites — it thrives in the city’s culture, heritage, arts, food, and hospitality.
Under the theme “Experience. Live. Love Angeles City,” Lazatin said the local government aims to strengthen collaboration with hotels, restaurants, travel operators, artists, students, and community groups to create a tourism movement built on shared identity and pride.
Among the initiatives in the pipeline are enhanced Heritage Tours covering Pamintuan Mansion, Museo ning Angeles, and Holy Rosary Parish Church, as well as the introduction of a Palengke Tour, designed to showcase the city’s culinary roots and everyday life.
“Sometimes, the real story of a city lives in its market — in the food, the laughter, and the daily life of its people,” she said.
Lazatin also emphasized inclusivity, noting that tourism programs will engage marginalized sectors including solo parents, PWDs, seniors, Aeta communities, small entrepreneurs, and local artisans.
“Tourism should not only bring visitors — it should bring opportunities,” she stressed.
The Tourism Office likewise hopes to provide homegrown platforms for Angeleño youth, giving local talents the stage to perform, create, and lead.
“When our students perform and create, the world sees why it is an honor to be an Angeleño,” Lazatin said.
In closing, she thanked the Pampanga Press Club and stakeholders for their continued support in promoting Angeles City’s story to the world.
“Together, let us show that Angeles City is not merely a destination — it is a living story, a shared home, and a beating heart,” she said.
With its people as its soul and collaboration as its compass, Angeles City moves forward in building a tourism industry that truly embodies “Tourism with a Heart.”
