The Philippine motorcycle industry continues to rev up, selling 171,155 units in September 2025, a 21.2% year-on-year increase from 141,202 units in the same month last year, according to the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA).

From January to September 2025, total sales hit 1.39 million units, up 12.8% from 2024 figures—proof that motorcycles remain a top mobility choice amid rising fuel and transport costs. Luzon accounted for 56% of total sales, while Visayas and Mindanao each contributed 22%, showing strong demand nationwide.

MDPPA President Engr. Alexander Cumpas said the trend underscores motorcycles’ continued appeal for affordability, fuel efficiency, and convenience in traffic. The association expects the upward momentum to continue through year-end.
