The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has intensified relief operations for families affected by Super Typhoon Uwan in Aurora, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that no Filipino goes hungry during disasters.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian met with local officials and partner agencies to coordinate immediate assistance and assess the needs of affected communities.

Gatchalian emphasized the agency’s commitment to delivering prompt and sufficient aid, saying, “Sisiguraduhin natin na walang Pilipinong magugutom, lalo na sa panahon ng kalamidad—alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.”
An initial 25,000 Family Food Packs (FFPs) have been distributed across affected towns, with another 25,000 expected to arrive in the coming days. The DSWD will also provide cash aid—₱10,000 for families with totally damaged homes and ₱5,000 for those with partial damage.
Additionally, 500 families in Dipaculao received hot meals, sleeping kits, kitchen kits, and hygiene kits to ease their stay in evacuation centers.
Through these ongoing efforts, the DSWD aims to help affected families recover swiftly, rebuild their livelihoods, and strengthen community resilience across Aurora.
