Under the leadership of Mayor Reynan Calo, the Municipal Agriculture Office rolled out the first-ever Municipal Fertilizer Subsidy Program, providing qualified rice farmers from all barangays with ammonium sulfate (21-0-0 with sulfur) completely free of charge.

The fully municipal-funded initiative ensures wider and fairer access to support, distributing one bag for farms 0.69 hectare and below, and two bags for farms 0.70 hectare and above.

In the first session alone, more than 800 bags were given to nearly 400 farmers, with another rollout scheduled to reach a total of around 800 beneficiaries.

The program underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthen local agriculture and improve the livelihoods of Ritenian farmers.
