Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy has been named Businessman of the Year at Esquire Philippines’ Man at His Best Awards 2025, recognizing his leadership in expanding digital access and advancing the country’s technology landscape.
Uy received the award during ceremonies held on November 18, where he emphasized that his work is driven by passion for technology and its potential to improve lives. “As we look to the future, our work at Converge continues as we evolve into a technology company. We will keep using technology for good and ensure that no Filipino is left behind in this digital age,” he said.

This year’s edition of Man at His Best honors “Architects of Tomorrow,” or individuals shaping the country’s future through innovation and leadership. Uy joined a lineup of honorees that includes filmmaker Lav Diaz (Creative of the Year), Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino (Maverick of the Year), actor Jericho Rosales (Actor of the Year), writer Butch Dalisay (Icon of the Year), journalist Glenda Gloria (Journalist of the Year), IV of Spades (Music Artist of the Year), and chef Jorge Mendez (Chef of the Year).
Under Uy’s leadership, Converge has built one of the country’s most extensive fiber networks, now serving nearly 2.93 million residential subscribers and operating over 888,000 kilometers of fiber infrastructure nationwide. He has long advocated for internet access as a right for every Filipino, pushing initiatives to make connectivity more affordable, including the introduction of prepaid fiber services.
Uy has previously earned multiple national and international recognitions, including the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Country Mover Award in 2024 and the EY Philippines Entrepreneur of the Year and Master Entrepreneur honors in 2022. He represented the country at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2023.
He also chaired the 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo this year, steering the event toward technology-driven discussions and welcoming global tech leaders such as Foxconn and Naver.
Uy dedicated the Esquire award to the Converge workforce, partners, and customers. “I’m here today because they helped me, and they were the backbone of my success,” he said.
Converge is currently accelerating its transition from broadband provider to full-fledged technology company, aiming to deliver innovative digital solutions while ensuring high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet for all Filipinos.
