NLEX Corporation successfully concluded the third run of its NLEX Lakbay Norte media tour for the year, taking media and content creators on a three-day lifestyle road trip across Tarlac and Nueva Ecija from November 25 to 27, 2025.
Designed to promote domestic tourism and support local economies, the tour highlighted the rich history, emerging agri-tourism sites, and diverse food destinations of Central Luzon—made easily accessible via the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
The itinerary catered to a wide range of travelers, beginning with a behind-the-scenes visit to the SCTEX Traffic Control Room, which showcased the technology ensuring safe and efficient travel along the expressways.
History and Heritage
In Tarlac, participants explored key historical landmarks, including the WWII Japanese Tunnels in Bamban and the Capas Train Station historical marker, both offering insight into the province’s wartime past. The group also visited the modern Jose Maria Escriva Church in Pura, notable for having Asia’s first drive-through access to the Blessed Sacrament.

Food and Agri-Tourism
The tour emphasized Central Luzon’s growing reputation as a food and agri-tourism destination. Dining stops in Tarlac included Café Sou in Bamban, Café Josefina in Capas, and Feliz Restaurant and Café in Gerona.

In Nueva Ecija, known as the “Rice Granary of the Philippines,” the group was welcomed by Talavera Mayor Aries Vincent Patrick Gaboy Lim before conducting courtesy calls at the Talavera LGU. Visits followed to DVF Dairy Farm and dining spots such as Erlinda’s Restaurant in Talavera and Kardeli All-Day Breakfast in the Science City of Muñoz. The culinary trail continued with Milka Krem, a popular destination for carabao milk–based products, and Rancho Antigo.
Leisure and Nature Stops
Balancing culture with relaxation, the itinerary included a visit to Canarem Lake and Bird Sanctuary in Victoria, Tarlac, a haven for nature lovers and photographers. Participants stayed at La Maja Rica Hotel in Tarlac City and Luisita Central Park Hotel, both offering comfortable and scenic retreats. The group also enjoyed recreational activities at Kart City.

In Nueva Ecija, the final leg featured an overnight stay at Lake Farm De La Marre Agri-Tourism Park in Pantabangan, capped by a visit to George Point, which offers panoramic views of Pantabangan Lake.
