The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) recorded six firecracker- and fireworks-related injury cases during the New Year celebration, as of 6:25 a.m. on January 1, 2026.
According to ACPO, all reported cases involved injuries caused by prohibited or unsafe fireworks. The victims were given medical treatment at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).
Authorities also reported that no stray bullet-related incidents were recorded during the same period, highlighting the sustained efforts of law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and the cooperation of the community in ensuring public safety.
The Angeles City Government renewed its call for Angeleños to prioritize safety during celebrations by strictly observing firecracker regulations and opting for safer alternatives. Parents and guardians were also reminded to closely supervise children and prevent them from handling fireworks.
Under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the Angeles City LGU expressed its appreciation to the ACPO, Bureau of Fire Protection, health workers, and emergency response teams for their vigilance and dedication in implementing the Iwas Paputok campaign.
Authorities urged the public to continue working together toward a safe, responsible, and injury-free community.
