San Clemente boosts road safety with new streetlights

The municipal government of San Clemente, Tarlac has enhanced road safety and public security with the installation of 28 new streetlights along Romulo Highway in Barangay Catagudingan.

The project was funded under the Fiscal Year 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance–Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF), highlighting the local government’s commitment to good governance and responsive public service.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director Araceli San Jose said the streetlight installation reflects the local government’s genuine concern for the community, as proper illumination helps ensure safer and more secure roads.

She described the initiative as “infrastructure with compliance and purpose,” noting that it directly responds to the needs of motorists, commuters, parents, and pedestrians, especially during nighttime travel.

Dubbed “Let the People See San Clemente,” the SGLG-IF-funded project underscores the municipality’s vision of fostering a safe, secure, and well-governed community through development efforts anchored on accountability and public service. (PIA 3)
