₱2.04-M shabu seized as PRO3 nabs HVI, two others in Nueva Ecija

Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) seized suspected shabu worth ₱2.04 million following the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and two other suspects in a joint buy-bust operation in Talavera, Nueva Ecija late Tuesday night.

The operation was carried out at around 10:50 p.m. on January 20, 2026, in Barangay Calipahan by operatives of the Talavera Municipal Police Station’s Station Drug Enforcement Team, in coordination with units from the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office.

Authorities recovered several sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total value of ₱2,040,000. The suspects were informed of the nature of their arrest and their constitutional rights before being taken to the Talavera Municipal Police Station for proper documentation. The seized items were marked and inventoried in accordance with existing laws.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said the operation underscores the region’s sustained, intelligence-driven campaign against illegal drugs.

“These results reaffirm our commitment to protect our communities and to relentlessly pursue those involved in illegal drug activities through lawful and coordinated operations,” Peñones said.

The operation supports the PNP’s Focused Agenda under Acting Chief PNP PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. and reinforces PRO3’s 3Ps—Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
