Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has extended financial and medical assistance to a total of 173 senior citizens from 14 barangays in Angeles City, as of February 5, 2026.
Lazatin personally visited the elderly beneficiaries to deliver ₱2,000 financial assistance, Vitamin C supplements, five kilos of rice, and free medical check-ups, which were funded from his personal resources.

The visits, which began in November 2025, have so far covered Barangays Agapito Del Rosario, Anunas, Claro M. Recto, Cuayan, Lourdes Sur, Lourdes Sur East, Margot, Mining, San Nicolas, Sta. Trinidad, Sto. Cristo, Sto. Rosario, Tabun, and Virgen Delos Remedios.
Family members of beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance and the personal visit from the lawmaker, noting the importance of continued support for senior citizens in the community.
Lazatin is expected to visit the remaining 19 barangays in Angeles City in the coming days to extend similar assistance to more elderly residents.
Records show that in March and July 2025, Lazatin also conducted visits to bed-ridden elderly residents aged 90 to 99 years old, reaching 372 beneficiaries in Mabalacat City and 258 in Magalang, Pampanga.
During his term as Angeles City mayor, Lazatin was known for his accessible, door-to-door delivery of public services, including free vaccinations, vitamins for children, free medicines, and social pension support for senior citizens. As a legislator, he continues to push programs aimed at strengthening senior citizen welfare.
On July 29, 2025, Lazatin filed House Bill 2422, which proposes the establishment of at least one “Bale Pusu” home for the elderly in every city and municipality nationwide, prioritizing abandoned and homeless senior citizens.
The proposed measure is patterned after the Bale Pusu Home for Abandoned Female Elderly established in Barangay Sta. Teresita, Angeles City on September 15, 2021, during Lazatin’s tenure as city mayor.
On October 2, 2025, Lazatin also filed House Bill 5068, which seeks to provide universal social pension for senior citizens across the country.
