New classrooms open at Kolehiyo ng Subic to boost learning spaces

Four newly constructed classrooms were officially inaugurated at Kolehiyo ng Subic, marking another step toward strengthening higher education facilities for students in Subic and nearby communities.

The ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony was led by Deputy Speaker and 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun, together with key school officials including Subic Mayor and the college’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun, and College President Dr. Rosely Agustin. Faculty members and students also attended the event.

Khonghun said the additional classrooms address the steadily growing student population coming from Subic and neighboring municipalities. The expansion is expected to enhance campus facilities and further improve the quality of education offered by the institution.

He emphasized that the project forms part of his legislative efforts to support and strengthen the education sector across his district.

During his speech, Khonghun also expressed gratitude to his father, Jeffrey D. Khonghun, former Subic mayor and current mayor of Castillejos, who led the establishment of Subic College in 2002. He noted that Mayor Jon Khonghun continues the mission of improving the institution for future generations.

Khonghun acknowledged the challenges faced over the years but reaffirmed their commitment to continuously prove improvements for the college to help shape better opportunities for students and the community.

Meanwhile, officials of Kolehiyo ng Subic assured their continued coordination with government agencies to implement programs that will further enhance access to quality education for the youth of Subic and surrounding areas.
