The Department of Tourism–Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) will recycle flowers used in its Panagbenga Festival float for a floral arrangement workshop scheduled on March 2, 2026, a day after the grand floral parade.
DOT-CAR Director Jovita Ganongan said the initiative aims to maximize resources while providing hands-on training for aspiring and experienced flower arrangers. By reusing the blooms from the parade, organizers will no longer need to purchase new materials for the upskilling activity.
The Department of Tourism, together with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority and the Philippine Retirement Authority, participates annually in the Panagbenga float parade.
According to a DOT-CAR advisory, flowers featured in the agency’s float will be carefully repurposed for the workshop, allowing participants to transform parade blooms into new floral creations. The session will cover design fundamentals, color harmony, and styling techniques under expert guidance.
Meanwhile, the Panagbenga fluvial parade, funded and supported by DOT-CAR, has been canceled this year due to the ongoing rehabilitation of Burnham Lake.
