A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facilities of the 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion of the Philippine Army was held in the Botolan, Zambales last February 20.
The event was led by Zambales Second District Representative Doris “Nanay Bing” Maniquiz, and attended by officials from national and local government agencies, as well as members of the Armed Forces. Board Member Rundy Ebdane also joined the ceremony as representative of Zambales Governor Jun Ebdane.








Among the facilities to be constructed are an Administration Building, Officers’ Barracks, Motorpool Building, Multi-Purpose Hall, Ammo Dump, and Company Barracks for the 69IB. The project aims to strengthen the operational capability and readiness of troops in maintaining peace and security in the province.
Officials from various agencies were present during the program, including representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), brigade and battalion officers of the Philippine Army, local chief executives from different municipalities of Zambales, and officials of Barangay San Juan.
According to officials, the project reflects the continued collaboration among the national government, the Provincial Government of Zambales under Governor Ebdane, local government units, and the armed forces to further enhance security and social services in the province and across the region.
