Barangay Balibago took a strong stand against pollution as local street sweepers, led by Punong Barangay Kap. PG Ponce, joined a regular clean-up activity along the Abacan River.
The initiative, organized by Balibago Water Works System in partnership with NGOs and environmental groups, aims to foster community participation in environmental preservation and responsible waste management.
Kap. Ponce expressed optimism that the Abacan River could eventually become a major tourist attraction, offering leisure activities and generating opportunities for local small-scale entrepreneurs, similar to successful riverfront developments in other cities.
The activity underscores the barangay’s commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, and community-driven environmental stewardship.
