The PhilHealth GAMOT (Guaranteed Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment) Program was officially launched at San Marcelino District Hospital on March 12, 2026, with Board Member Rundy Ebdane representing Governor Jun Ebdane.

β€œThe health of every ZambaleΓ±o is a priority of our provincial government. Let us continue this goal together β€” a healthier, safer, and more prepared Zambales,” Ebdane said during the opening ceremony.

Ebdane highlighted the collaboration between the Department of Health (DOH), PhilHealth, and the Provincial Government of Zambales in delivering accessible healthcare services to residents across the province.

The program was led by officials from DOH and PhilHealth, including Dr. Corazon I. Flores (DOH Regional Director, RO3), Atty. Ma. Emily P. Roque (PhilHealth Regional Vice President), and Dr. Rowena S. Zabat-San Mateo (PhilHealth Acting Branch Manager). They explained that the GAMOT Program aims to make essential medicines and outpatient services faster and more accessible to PhilHealth members.

Dr. Cresencio T. Gonzales Jr., Chief of Hospital II at SMDH, expressed gratitude to DOH, PhilHealth, and the provincial government for expanding medical services for ZambaleΓ±os under the program.

The launch included the awarding of a Certificate of Accreditation to SMDH, the unveiling of the PhilHealth YAKAP signage, and the actual prescription and distribution of medicines through the GAMOT App.

The program primarily targets senior citizens, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, indigents, and other residents who may lack sufficient funds for medications, ensuring that essential medicines for outpatient treatment are more easily and quickly accessible.

Officials said the provincial government of Zambales, in partnership with key hospitals, remains committed to supporting PhilHealth’s mission to improve public health and keep communities safe from illness.
