Smiles and heartfelt gratitude filled the Pampanga Capitol as 95-year-old Josefina Atienza personally received a ₱100,000 check from Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda during her visit on Monday.
Atienza expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, saying it was the first time in her life that she received such a blessing and acknowledgment from the government. Despite her age, she said she felt honored to be remembered and recognized.
The elderly beneficiary shared that she plans to save the money so her family will have something to use when the time comes that she passes away.
Aside from Atienza, ten other senior citizens aged 95 and above also received ₱100,000 cash incentives from the provincial government in recognition of their long lives and contributions to the province of Pampanga.
The incentive is granted under Ordinance No. 683, which aims to honor elderly Kapampangans who have been part of the province’s history and development.
Joining the distribution of assistance were Board Members Fritzie David Dizon, Atty. Claire Lim, and Dra. Kaye Naguit, along with Executive Assistant IV Angie Blanco and PSWDO Officer Fe Manarang.
