PCG rescues missing fisherman off Bajo de Masinloc

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully rescued a missing fisherman after five days at sea during a maritime patrol and search and rescue operation off Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales on March 20, 2026.

The 32-year-old fisherman, a resident of Wawanway, Subic, was reported missing after his service boat, “Bebelot,” under FB Gabriel Geruz 6, failed to return. His last known position was relayed to authorities in coordination with BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408).

During the operation, PCG personnel located the missing boat about 78.98 nautical miles west of Capon Grande, Zambales. The fisherman was found at around 4:07 p.m. and was immediately given medical assistance onboard.

The service boat was also secured, while BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) transported the rescued fisherman back to Subic, Zambales for proper turnover.
