PRO3 holds solemn Way of the Cross for Holy Week

Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) marked Holy Week with a solemn Way of the Cross on Good Friday, April 3, at Camp Olivas.

Police personnel, both uniformed and non-uniformed, joined civilian participants in the 14 Stations of the Cross, reflecting on the passion and sacrifice of Jesus Christ while renewing their spiritual grounding amid the demands of service.

Rev. Fr. PLTCOL Jonathan Chy, Regional Pastoral Officer, said this year’s reflections focused on prayers for lasting peace and order in Central Luzon, as well as the safety and well-being of police personnel and their families.

The observance followed a Lenten Vigil held on Maundy Thursday at the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel inside Camp Olivas, where officers gathered for prayer and reflection.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGen Jess B. Mendez underscored the role of faith in policing, saying, “As we reflect on the sacrifice and humility of Christ, we are reminded that our duty as police officers goes beyond enforcement—it is about service with compassion, integrity, and purpose.”

He added that PRO3 remains committed to ensuring public safety through Ligtas SUMVAC 2026, with heightened security measures across Central Luzon throughout the Lenten season.
