The first phase of the EDSA rehabilitation project has been completed nearly two months ahead of schedule following continuous roadworks carried out during Holy Week.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon said the segment from Roxas Boulevard to Orense is now finished, with quality maintained despite the accelerated timeline. He noted that motorists are expected to immediately feel improvements in road conditions.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the swift rollout of Phase 2 to further ease traffic and improve travel time for both motorists and commuters. Bidding for the next phase is set to begin this April.
Officials said the accelerated rehabilitation aims to minimize disruptions while delivering faster and more efficient travel along Metro Manila’s main thoroughfare.
