A total of 6,556 Aeta residents from upland barangays in Porac, Floridablanca, and Mabalacat City participated in a 10-day planting activity under the “Gulayan sa Barangay” Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The initiative was implemented in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga led by Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda.

Each participant cultivated various types of vegetables as part of the program. In support of their daily needs, beneficiaries also received food packs from the DSWD.
The activity forms part of the agency’s Food-for-Work Program, which aims to provide assistance and support to Aeta communities, particularly amid rising market prices and ongoing economic challenges.
