Mexico town formally opened its annual fiesta on April 23, 2026 at the Mexico Mini Convention Center, led by Municipal Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales, with this year’s celebration centered on a more meaningful and modest observance.

The opening activity began with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Dixie Paras, attended by Vice Mayor Dr. Jonathan R. Pangan, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, municipal employees, and candidates for Prinsesita Ning Mexico, Mister Mexico, and Mutya Ning Mexico.
This year’s festivities were intentionally toned down in response to the ongoing global fuel concerns linked to tensions in the Middle East, with local officials emphasizing the importance of practicality while still honoring tradition.
Mayor Gonzales underscored the value of unity, gratitude, and responsible celebration, encouraging residents to uphold the spirit of the fiesta with care and compassion despite current challenges.
The celebration will continue until May 4, 2026, featuring a series of community-centered activities across the municipality.
