Maxicare Healthcare Corporation is expanding its network of clinics nationwide to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for Filipino families, amid rising living costs and increasing delays in medical consultations.
The company said its clinics are strategically located across Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, allowing members and PRIMA cardholders to access laboratory tests, diagnostics, and specialist consultations in one facility without requiring a Letter of Authorization (LOA).
Maxicare noted that services provided in its clinics do not count against a member’s Maximum Benefit Limit (MBL), helping reduce out-of-pocket concerns while encouraging preventive care.
In addition to physical clinics, the company also offers digital and home-based services, including its Member Gateway platform, 24/7 video teleconsultations, and HomeLabs services.
Maxicare Group Chief Customer Officer Raymond Hernandez said many Filipinos delay consultations not only due to cost but also distance and travel time.
“Even when care is covered, people delay consultations because the clinic is too far or the commute is too long,” Hernandez said, adding that many still associate healthcare with high costs, leading to postponed checkups until conditions become urgent.
Maxicare Health Services Inc. President and CEO Josephine Lopez said the expanding clinic network aims to bring care closer to communities.
“Every Maxicare Clinic we open brings that door closer to anyone who needs it,” Lopez said. “Earlier consultations save lives. That is what our clinics were built for.”
The company said its clinics are located in residential areas, business districts, and commercial hubs, and are supported by a wider network of more than 1,100 affiliated hospitals and clinics, 749 dental clinics, 126 rehabilitation, dialysis, and eye centers, and over 22,000 doctors and specialists.
Maxicare clinics offer consultations in various fields, including pediatrics, internal medicine, OB-GYN, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, and rehabilitation medicine, along with diagnostic and laboratory services.
