City College of Angeles debuts in global rankings, secures six Top 100 spots in WURI 2026

The City College of Angeles (CCA) has entered the international academic arena after earning its first-ever placements in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, securing six spots within the Top 100 across key innovation categories.

The milestone highlights CCA’s growing global presence and its commitment to innovation-driven, community-focused education, under the leadership of Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II, who also serves as Chairperson of the college’s Board of Trustees.

WURI, which evaluates institutions based on innovation, real-world impact, and societal relevance, recognized CCA for programs that respond directly to community needs, sustainability, and workforce readiness.

Among its rankings, CCA placed:

  • Top 51 – Visionary Leadership
  • Top 51 – Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness
  • Top 68 – Future-Oriented Responses to Global Uncertainty and Geopolitical Risk
  • Top 81 – Student Support and Engagement
  • Top 88 – Representative Research Project
  • Top 99 – Funding for Sustainability

CCA’s inclusion in the WURI rankings positions it alongside globally recognized institutions and underscores its role as one of the few local colleges in the Philippines to achieve multiple placements in the list.

With this breakthrough, the college signals its readiness to compete on the global stage while remaining grounded in its mission to transform lives and communities through accessible, relevant, and impactful education.
