1,250 farmers in Mexico receive aid under national assistance program

A total of 1,250 farmers from the municipality of Mexico received financial assistance under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) during a payout activity held on May 7 at the Mexico Mini Convention Center.

Each beneficiary received ₱2,325 in aid to support their livelihood and agricultural activities.

Present during the distribution were Mayor Rodencio S. Gonzales, Congresswoman Mica Gonzales, Board Member MyMy Mercado Gonzales, Vice Mayor Jonathan R. Pangan, Councilor Vince Balajadia, and Councilor Allaine Ramos.

The assistance program is part of the national government’s support initiatives for the agriculture sector under the administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr..

The rollout in Mexico was facilitated through the efforts of Congresswoman Mica Gonzales in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Office III and the local government of Mexico, with support from the municipal agriculture office headed by Municipal Agriculturist Lauly Pineda.

Local officials said the initiative highlights the importance of collaboration among government agencies in delivering assistance and opportunities to farmers, who play a vital role in food security and the local economy.
