A total of 2,440 senior citizens from the Municipality of Mexico received ₱3,000 each in financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during a payout activity held on May 8 at the Mexico Mini Convention Center.

Among those present during the distribution were Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” Gonzales, Pampanga 3rd District Congresswoman Mica Gonzales, Board Member MyMy Mercado Gonzales, Councilor Vince Balajadia, and Councilor Allaine Ramos.

The assistance was given to senior citizens who do not receive pensions from any government agency. The funding came from the national government through the support of Congresswoman Gonzales and Board Member Gonzales.

Mayor Gonzales also shared that instead of holding a celebration for his upcoming 60th birthday on June 20, he plans to use the allotted funds to help cancer patients in the municipality.
