₱5K cash aid released to 616 jeepney drivers in Bataan

A total of 616 members of the Jeepney Drivers and Operators Association (JODA) received ₱5,000 each in cash relief assistance on May 11, 2026, at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga, as part of government efforts to help ease the impact of rising fuel prices.

The assistance was provided under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 3 – Central Luzon, aimed at supporting public utility vehicle drivers with their daily operating and household expenses.

The payout was conducted in an orderly manner with technical support from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, which helped facilitate verification and smooth processing of beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries said the cash aid provided significant relief amid the continued increase in petroleum prices, noting that it helps sustain their livelihood and daily needs.

The DSWD Field Office 3 continues to roll out cash relief assistance to public utility vehicle drivers across various provinces in Central Luzon.
