A day after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that the fire at the Navotas Sanitary Landfill had been fully extinguished, Vince Dizon returned to the landfill site for continued monitoring and post-disaster interventions aimed at preventing a similar incident from happening again.
The inspection focused on ongoing government measures following the fire, which affected communities in Navotas and nearby cities and provinces.
Joining the site inspection were Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya Endo Kazuya, Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna, Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre III, Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco, and San Miguel Corp. Chairman and CEO Ramon Ang.
