More Kapampangan students from indigent families are set to gain internet access for their studies following the turnover of “Bayanihan SIM” cards by the Department of Information and Communications Technology Region 3 to Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda.
According to DICT Central Luzon Regional Director Antonio Padre, each SIM card comes with 25GB of monthly internet allocation continuously renewed by the DICT to support online learning, research, and communication needs of students.
Out of the 5,000 SIM cards requested by Governor Pineda, more than 1,300 have already been turned over to the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
Pineda said the program would greatly benefit students from poor and remote communities with limited internet access, helping improve their opportunities for education and connectivity.
